Espíritu de Nuestro Futuro (first known as Espíritu de Nuestra Tierra) was established on the
fall semester of 2002. Its primary purpose is to assist and support non-traditional students
in attaining their chosen degrees and to develop personal and academic skills that will
strengthen their professional aspirations through mentoring, tutoring, workshops, trainings,
guest speakers and lecturers. The active participation of its members will make them eligible
for our “Advocating for Educational Equity and Access for AB 540 Students” annual scholarship.
ARTICLE I. NAME
Section 1: Espíritu de Nuestro Futuro
ARTICLE II. PURPOSE
Section 1: The primary purpose of Espíritu de Nuestro Futuro shall be to assist AB540 students
in attaining their chosen degrees in higher education, to develop necessary skills needed as they
transition from CSUDH and into the workforce, and to serve as peer mentors to younger students.
Espíritu de Nuestro Futuro shall also support the overall educational experience of students by
providing a safe environment in which they can experience intellectual and emotional growth in an
effort to assist their persistence and completion of academic degrees.
